Anatomy & Physiology
- Tanishk Natu: University of Cincinnati – My name is Tanishk Natu, and I am a third year studying Medical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. I’ve gotten the chance to compete in multiple events in High School, including Anatomy and Physiology, Cell Biology, Dynamic Planet, and Astronomy. At UC, you can catch me riding my bike, working the hospital, or cutting decorations for hall. Outside school, I love to stargaze, listen to Led Zeppelin, and catch up on tennis!
- Vishal Surya: MIT – Howdy! I’m Vishal, a freshman at MIT studying Bioengineering (course 20). I competed in SciOly for 6 years and was a captain at Seven Lakes HS. My favorite events were Anatomy, Microbe Mission, and Codebusters. Outside of SciOly, I do neuroscience research, play basketball, and take walks across the Charles.
Astronomy
- April Cheng: Princeton University – Hi! I’m April, and I’m a MIT ‘24 and first-year astrophysics PhD student at Princeton, where I study gravitational waves, black holes, and cosmology. I’ve been writing Astronomy for MIT since 2021. A lifetime ago, I competed for Canyon Crest Academy Astronomy and the USA IOAA team. I’m excited to come out of gaming retirement and start playing Silksong.
- Brian Sun: MIT – hi!! i’m brian, and i’m studying cs/ai (6-4) and physics (8) as a freshman at mit. i’m originally from montgomery hs (new jersey) and mit scioly weekend was always one of my favorite moments through 3 years of competing, mainly for astro. it’s great to finally be giving back to scioly and writing a test i think will be really fun!!! i’m also doing a urop in gpu computing for black hole research and involved in ai@mit as well. in my free time i love cooking, exploring boston, gymming, and staying up really late w/ friends :))
- Sahil Pontula: MIT – Sahil is a PhD student in applied physics at MIT, studying the nonlinear and quantum properties of multimode optical systems. He competed for Enloe HS and is excited to share his passion for astronomy through volunteer positions with Science Olympiad and the USA Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.
Boomilever
- Angela Guo: MIT – Hi! I’m Angela, a sophmore at MIT studying 6-4 (AI) and 18 (Math). I competed for Adlai E Stevenson HS (IL), doing each balsa engineering event at least twice (!) and I’m super excited to be an ES this year! In my free time, I love hanging out over card games, making good food, and exploring new places.
- George Sun: Yale University – George is a Science Olympiad alum from the state of Washington, a long-time Science
Olympiad National Event Supervisor, and current Chair for Washington Science Olympiad’s
Board of Directors. He is also the current man behind the curtain at Scioly.org, the online
student community for Science Olympiad participants - you might know him by his avatar,
bernard. In his spare time, he received a degree in bioengineering from the University of
Washington in 2019 and is an MD student at Yale School of Medicine in Connecticut.
Bungee Drop
- Chen-Young Lin: Purdue University – Hi I’m Chen-Young, a junior at Purdue studying mechanical engineering. Back in the day, I competed with Troy high school in California. My favorite events are Wright Stuff, Ping Pong Parachute, or basically any flying event. Currently, I serve as the Builds Coordinator for Purdue Scioly and I compete on the Purdue Rifle Team.
- Mridula Mukundan: University of Michigan - Ann Arbor – Hi! My name is Mridula Mukundan and I’m a current freshman at the University of Michigan thinking about studying electrical engineering. In high school, I was president of Westborough Science Olympiad in Massachusetts, where I competed in basically anything inquiry ( big fan especially of Codebusters, Experimental Design, and Fermi Questions). I’m super excited to be an event supervisor for Bungee Drop this year!! In my free time I love hiking/exploring random spots, religiously watching the Celtics, and getting my daily crossword in.
Chemistry Lab
- Samuel Xu: MIT – Hello! I’m Samuel, a freshman who doesn’t know what major they’re going into but hopes it will involve chemistry. (6-7 + 10?) My favorite events in High School were Chemistry Lab and Forensics. I also have (had…) a home lab, so if you need help starting your own, I can try to help :D. In my free time, I like playing the piano, reading random wikipedia articles, playing tennis, and coming up with random chemistry questions!

Circuit Lab
- Allen Li: MIT – Hi! I’m Allen, a freshman from California studying physics and EECS at MIT. I competed for Monta Vista for three years and especially loved events like Optics and Robot Tour. Outside of class, I sing in the MIT Logarhythms and play the occasional card game.
- Zhi Zheng Ong: MIT – Hello!! I’m ZZ, a Physics (8) and EECS (6-5) sophomore from Malaysia :D Outside of being a nerd I love to spend time in makerspaces, go sailing / geocaching around Boston, and watch the sunset from Harvard bridge (it’s beautiful trust)
Codebusters
- Aneesh Iyer: Georgia Tech – Hi! I’m Aneesh, a first-year Electrical Engineering major at Georgia Tech. I was a captain for the Mason High School Science Olympiad team in Ohio (and director of the 2025 Mason Invitational). While competing, my favorite events were Codebusters (by far), Optics, Experimental Design, and Wi-fi Lab. In my free time, I love playing tennis and I’m also apart of Hytech Racing at Georgia Tech (FSAE Electric). Science Olympiad really helped define my high-school experience, so I’m glad to be able to continue contributing in college!
Designer Genes
- Bill Sun: MIT – Hey, I’m Bill! I was a captain for Seven Lakes HS for two years, and my favorite events were WIDI and Microbe Mission. In my free time, I like cooking for my dorm and ultimate frisbee. I’m looking forward to writing for the invite this year and wish everyone good luck!
- Matthew Eskritt: Boston University – Hello! My name is Matt Eskritt and I am a Junior at Boston University studying Biochemistry & Molecular Biology with a minor in Computer Science. In high school, I was the team captain for Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, WI. My favorite events were Cell Biology, Anatomy, and It’s About Time. Outside of SciOly, I’m the club president of NMDP at BU, involved with research on campus, and a member of Alpha Phi Omega. I love learning about science and I hope to inspire that love in others as well!
- Melody Hong: MIT – Hi, I’m Melody! I’m a freshman at MIT from New York with plans to major in math (Course 18). I previously competed with MacArthur High School, during which my favorite events were Cell Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Microbe Mission. On campus, I’m also a member of MIT Vocal Jazz Ensemble (VJE) and Pistol Club; off-campus, I love cafe-hopping, doing all things creative, and collecting rubber ducks!
Disease Detectives
- Andrew Ng: Tufts University – Hey there! I’m Andrew, a senior at Tufts University majoring in math and biochemistry. In high school I mostly competed in bio-adjacent events, and now I write too many Disease Detectives tests. Outside of Scioly, I enjoy hanging out with my zebrafish in lab, climbing plastic rocks, biking, hiking, cooking, and photography :D
- Brady Williams: Cornell University – Hi! I’m Brady, a junior at Cornell majoring in Biological Sciences, with specialties in infectious disease and microbiology. I’m from Minnesota, where I was a captain for Eagan High School for 3 years! Scioly has kind of been my life for the last 11 years and I’ve been on the Cornell Scioly executive board for 3 years. I love climbing, hiking, and exploring Ithaca! My favorite event is Disease Detectives so I am super excited to ES this year!
Dynamic Planet
- Malachi Noel: Princeton University – Hi, I’m Malachi, a freshman at Princeton from Illinois studying computer science. As a competitor, I participated in every Div C Earth and Space Science event except fossils. In general, I’m a pretty big fan of minerals.
- Ryan Eto: Harvard University – Hi I’m Ryan, a freshman at Harvard studying CS and Earth & Planetary Sciences. I competed for Iolani for 6 years and did all kinds of earth science events. In my personal opinion, oceans are cool. I live on a small rock in the ocean and I like said ocean. It makes everything warm and pleasant. It’s kinda salty. I wish I could drink it sometimes. Also ocean creatures are freaky. Anyways, in my spare time, I play in the marching band and have taken up playing ultimate frisbee!
Electric Vehicle
- Edwin Liu: University of Texas at Austin – Hi! I’m Edwin, a freshman majoring in ECE (unfortunately) at UT Austin. I competed for three years in high school and was captain of LASA’s Science Olympiad team in Texas. My favorite events were Scrambler, Ecology, and Entomology, and my least favorite event was Geologic Mapping. In my free time, I enjoy playing Clash Royale and eating!
- Om Patel: Georgia Tech
Engineering CAD
- Maya Pullara: University of Waterloo – What up I’m Maya Pullara! I’m a freshman at the University of Waterloo studying Software Engineering. I was a part of the Monta Vista Science Olympiad Team (shout out) in Cupertino, CA, and Eng CAD, Codebusters, and Electric Vehicle were my favorite events. I’m so glad to be supervising this year and keep contributing to the scioly community, and I’m even more glad to supervise Eng CAD, which decided to become a non-trial event only right after I graduated!!!! Outside of coding and school, I love theater, video games, and killer sudoku (look it up its peak). Good luck!
Entomology
- Andrew Tsai: Johns Hopkins University – Hi! My name is Andrew and I’m a freshman majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Johns Hopkins University. I’ve been on Troy’s Science Olympiad team for four years, competing mostly in identification and inquiry events. My favorite events were Ornithology, Entomology, and Write it Do it. In my free time, you can find me grinding Word Hunt and NYT games, restaurant hopping with friends, or playing piano and cello.
- Run Zhou: Texas A&M University – Howdy! I’m Run, a current senior studying computer science at Texas A&M. I’ve competed in Science Olympiad as a member of Clements High School in Texas and am now on my third year of writing tests for Science Olympiad. I am very excited to be writing Entomology again for MIT this year and hope you enjoy the test! Outside of SciOly I enjoy birdwatching, drawing, and listening to music.
Experimental Design
- Aditya Peddi: MIT – Morning! I’m Aditya, a freshman studying physics (8) and math with computer science (18-C). Competing for Troy High School in Southern California, my favorite events were Astronomy and Fermi Questions. As an ES for Experimental Design, I’m excited to give back to the Science Olympiad community and, anyway, I enjoy designing tests—I’m also helping write for this year’s MIT Science Bowl. In my free time, I enjoy bingeing books, scheming, and spinning fire.
- Jeffrey Xu: Rutgers University - New Brunswick – Hi! I’m Jeffrey, a sophomore at Rutgers majoring in math and economics. I competed for Montgomery High School in 2023 and 2024 as the team’s designated inquiry idiot, where my main events were Codebusters, Experimental Design, and Fermi Questions. Outside of SciOly, I enjoy playing soccer, experimenting with new boba orders, and trying to surpass my peak of #6 on Pokémon Showdown’s Random Battles ladder.
Forensics
- Eric Wu: UC Berkeley – Hey everyone! I’m Eric, a third-year studying chemistry and math at Berkeley! Forensics was (one-of) my favorite events back when I was competing and I’m excited to write for it again this year! Outside of SciOly, I’m involved in BSB and BCT and when I have time I enjoy hiking, bouldering, and reading.
- Hannah Lin: Cornell University – Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a junior studying Biological Engineering on the pre-dental track at Cornell University. I’m from Stony Brook, Long Island where I did Science Olympiad for 6 years, captaining the Ward Melville team. My favorite event is Forensics, and I’ve event-supervised for MIT, BirdSO, and Cornell in the past. In my free time, I like to drink boba and rock climb!
Helicopter
- Andrew Welter: MIT – Hello! My name is Andrew and I’m a first year graduate student pursuing a PhD in the AeroAstro department here at MIT. I’m from Southeastern Pennsylvania where I competed for Bayard Rustin for all four years of high school. This is my fifth year in a row supervising the Flight event at MIT, and I’m very excited to see everyone compete this year. In my free time, I enjoy making music, DJing, and learning to cook!
- Sean Liu: Yale University – I’m Sean, a senior at Yale University majoring in Neuroscience and Evolutionary Biology. I’m from Skillman, NJ, and served as a captain of the Montgomery High School SciOly team during high school - my favorite events were Chem Lab, Wright Stuff, and Sounds of Music! Outside of academics, I volunteer as Longitudinal Care Director at the HAVEN Free Clinic, play cello and piano at gigs across campus, and work at the Peabody Museum as part of the visitor experience team. In my free time, I unwind at the shooting range during practices with the Yale club archery team.
Hovercraft
- Manas Choure: University of Pennsylvania – Wazzup guys, I’m Manas, a senior studying Physics and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. I was captain of Chattahoochee High School and my favorite events included Codebusters, WiFi Lab, Experimental Design, and Astronomy. My research interests are in atomic clocks and frequency combs. In my free time, I’m the captain of the cricket team and I play semi professionally around the Philly area and nationally. I also enjoy doing interesting puzzles, and one of my favorite books right now is “Equations With Integer Solutions” by Vu.
- Zayya Htut: UMass Amherst – Biochemistry Undergraduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have been competing in or running Science Olympiad tournaments for going on 10 years now. I’m just really excited to be here :)
Machines
- Emir Hussain Naduvil Valappil: Carnegie Mellon University – Hey y’all, I’m Emir! I’m a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University studying Mathematics, planning to delve into Operations Research/Stats and minor in Computer Science. Before college, I competed on Solon’s Science Olympiad team for five years. Some of my favorite events were Codebusters, Disease Detectives, Density Lab and Machines. In my free time, you’ll probably find me playing fun backyard games with friends, baking up fun treats in the kitchen, or intensely locked in on the TV while a sports game is going on. Super excited to supervise this year!
- Robert Lee: Purdue University – Hello! I’m Robert, a second year master’s student at Purdue studying astrodynamics. My favorite events were Astronomy, Boomilever, and Fermi Questions. When I have some free time, I enjoy playing badminton, baking banana bread, and gaming on boards.
Materials Science
- Sourish Pramanik: MIT – Hi, I’m Sourish, a freshman planning to major in 8 and 6-5 (Physics and EECS). In high school, I competed in Montgomery’s Science Olympiad team for four years where my favorite events were It’s About Time, Optics, and Materials Science. In my free time, I love dying to bosses in video games (Hollowknight Silksong), playing ultimate frisbee, and listening to music.
- Yoshi Saito: Harvard – Hi, I’m Yoshi! I’m currently a physics PhD student at Harvard doing condensed matter theory. In undergrad, I also was part of the MIT Science Olympiad Planning Committee, and I’m excited to be helping MIT SciOly this year again!
Remote Sensing
- Aidan York: University of Pittsburgh – Hey, I’m Aidan! I’m a second year PhD student studying tectonics at the University of Pittsburgh. I graduated from Haverford College in 2024, and Kellenberg Memorial HS in 2020. I’m super excited to be supervising Remote Sensing this year! In the past, I’ve supervised Geologic Mapping, Rocks and Minerals, and Sounds of Music across the country. In free time, I love listening to Green Day and Fall Out Boy, playing them on my bass guitar, as well as playing competitive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. So excited to see everyone at the tournament!
- Araneesh Pratap: Hi, I’m Araneesh. Went to Georgia Tech for Computer Science (‘22) and have been in the working world since then. I was the National Event Supervisor for Geologic Mapping in 2024 and 2025, and spent 2021 and 2022 as the Georgia C State Tournament Director (the second of my soon-to-be-three stints organizing a tournament), bringing the tournament to Georgia Tech where it has remained ever since. I’ve been an ES for MIT since 2019, my first year out of high school, and glad to be back again every time
Robot Tour
- Amar Gollamudi: Purdue University – I’m Amar, a sophmore at Purdue studying Mechanical Engineering. I’m excited to be ESing Robot Tour again! I competed for Mountain View High School, and I loved doing builds. I also enjoy playing frisbee, cooking, and putting off my homework :)
- Parth Mhaske: University of Maryland – Hi, I’m Parth! I’m a freshman studying CS and Math at UMD. I competed for West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North in New Jersey and I did the build events. However, my favorite ones were Robot Tour and Flight. Outside of school, I like cycling and taking photos of whatever I find cool.
Rocks & Minerals
- Rebecca Ives: University of Chicago – Hi! I’m Rebecca, a freshman studying Geophysical and Biological sciences at the University of Chicago! I competed in earth science and ID events at Harriton High School for four years, where my favorite events were Fossils, Ornithology, and Rocks & Minerals. Outside of scioly, I enjoy baking, reading, birdwatching, and eating chocolate (not galena!)
- Titus Tsai: MIT – Hello! Old man now. But used to be good at these things. I now do chemistry, but was decent at earth science back in high school. Did all the ESS events, also did science bowl and ocean science bowl. Started a mineral collection in college. Helps with knowing R&M a lot! :D
Trial - Lean Mean Meme Machine
- Daniel Bartholomew: University of Massachusetts Amherst – Hi guys!! I’m Daniel, a Sophomore studying Biology at UMass Amherst, and I’m one of the ESes for Lean Mean Meme Machine this year! I’m a former Scioly competitor from Winchester, Massachusetts, and I am now the Head of Logistics for the UMass Amherst Science Olympiad (UMASO). In the past I’ve written for other trial events as well(most notably my beloved UMASO 2025 Pokemon Pset exam, which I consider my magnum opus)! I’m so excited to bring my vast knowledge of every meme known to man to this event this year, and I thank MIT for the opportunity!

Trial - Science Scramble
- Catherine Zhang: MIT – Hey there! My name is Catherine, and I’m a PhD student in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program studying Physical Oceanography. I did Science Olympiad in middle school and high school, and I’m excited to be helping out this year to share the SciOly love!
- Miles Dai: MIT Alum – Hi, I’m Miles! I’m from Carmel, Indiana where I competed for Carmel High School. I was on the MIT Scioly planning committee from 2017-2021, and now, I run fun trial events every so often. Currently, I work as a software engineer at a cybersecurity startup. Outside of Scioly, some of my interests include hobby electronics, speedcubing, and cooking.
Trial - Scavenger Hunt
- Jack Florey: MIT – Jack Florey is most legendary of all the MIT hackers. Police car on the Great Dome? Tetris on the Green Building? Jack was there. Unfortunately, MIT Science Olympiad did not want a trial event about performing illegal activities, so Jack is stuck with the next best thing.
- Ren Chai: MIT – Is also running Scavenger Hunt. Is not a legendary hacker.
Water Quality
- Katie Wilson: Dartmouth College – Hello! My name is Katie Wilson, and I am a junior at Dartmouth studying chemistry. I competed for Mason throughout middle and high school, participating in events like anatomy, GLM, and dynamic planet. In my free time, I’m often driving around New Hampshire in search of mountains to hike up, local chocolate milk to try, or new swimming holes to jump in.
- Krish Shah: Carnegie Mellon University – Hi, I’m Krish! I’m a freshman in Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science planning to major in Computational Biology, and I competed in Science Olympiad for 6 years in Texas. My favorite events were typically the ecology and identification events, though I will maintain that Game On is the best event ever created. I’m very glad to be able to continue being involved with Science Olympiad and hope our test can be as enriching and enjoyable as possible. In my spare time, I make web extensions/sites, games, and LaTeX tools, play hard games like Nine Sols and Silksong, birdwatch, read nonfiction, and strive to be the very best like no one ever was.
